1. Registration & Approval

Unlike many sites where you can bid immediately after signing up, TopSeaShells requires a two-step verification:

• Register: Create an account on our registration page
• Sign in: Access to your account to be able to bid

• Get Approved: Once registered, you must request bidding approval. You cannot place a bid until your account is manually authorized. You must sign in first before requesting approval.

2. Bidding Mechanics

Please read our quick auction rules below before you cast your first bid!

• No Auto-Bidding (No Max Bidding: This is a fully manual, live-action auction. There are no automated bidding systems or proxy bids. If you want a shell, you have to bid for it in real-time!
• You Must Be Signed In: To place a bid, ensure you are logged into your topseashells.com account. Guest bidding is not supported.
• Stay on the Page: Because there is no auto-bidding, you must remain present and active on this page to monitor your bids and react to other collectors. If you close the page or walk away, you might miss out!
• Green Bid Status: You have your hand on the shell! This means you are currently the highest bidder. Hold tight and watch the clock.
• Red Bid Status: You’ve been outbid! Another collector has placed a higher bid. Act fast and place a new bid to regain your lead before the hammer falls.
• Binding Contracts: All bids are final and irreversible. There are no "oops" buttons here, so double-check the species and quality before confirming.
• No Discounts: While the site sometimes offers discounts on "Buy Now" items, auction wins are strictly exempt from any promotional discounts.

3. Shipping & Payments

Before you start bidding on multiple $1.00 shells, keep the shipping thresholds in mind:

• Minimum Order: There is a $50 minimum total required before we'll ship a parcel.
• Shipping Costs: Rates are tiered based on your total order value. For example, orders over $400 often qualify for free shipping, while smaller orders carry a flat fee (usually around $10–$15).

4. Quality & Grading

Each auction listing includes professional grading (e.g., GEM, FINE+++). Since these are natural specimens, they emphasize that natural marks or slight color variations are expected and are not considered defects.
